DESPITE being slightly overshadowed by the Party in the Park on its doorstep, The Railway Tavern’s charity barbecue and family fun day still attracted a loyal following and raised much needed cash for the Naomi House children’s hospice.
In fact the pub’s new landlord, Jason Lyon, says he is planning a second event in a few weeks’ time to add to the £200 raised by this event because he is very keen to support local charities.
Since he took over earlier this year Mr Lyon has refurbished the pub and installed a bouncy castle and trampoline in the large family garden – creating an ideal location for fundraising events.
