Renowned conductor and BBC Presenter Brian Kay joined the Wherwell Singers this week to give them a once in a lifetime rehearsal, putting them through their paces in the lead up to their concerts on the 21st April in Compton and the 29th April in Stockbridge.

Amongst his many achievements, Brian is Principal Conductor of The Really Big Chorus and on radio, he has presented on BBC Radio 2 and until 2006 presented 3 for All and Brian Kay's Light Programme, on BBC Radio 3. He has twice won a Sony Award as Music Presenter of the Year, including the coveted Gold Award in 1996.

Brian was also the voice of Papageno in the film Amadeus and the lowest frog in the Paul McCartney song We All Stand Together (The Frog's Chorus).

Dale Webb, conductor for the Wherwell Singers commented, ' It was a real honour for us to have Brian visit us in Wherwell, particularly given he is more accustomed to the dizzy heights of the Albert Hall. We all enjoyed his rehearsal immensely and look forward to making use of some of the tips he gave us in our April concerts.'
