AN ANDOVER man has been fined more than £100 and given a restraining order for harassment, assault and possession of a class B drug.

Paul Christopher Coverdale pleaded guilty to harassing a woman in Florence Court on Saturday 15 October and to contacting her against her will and going to her address, causing her to fear him between Sunday 09 October until Sunday 16 October when he appeared in Basingstoke Court recently.

He also pleaded guilty to assault by beating her on Monday 10 October and indicated a plea of guilty to possession of a small amount of cannabis on Saturday 15 October.

The 46-year-old, of Turin Court, was fined a total of £170, including victim services surcharge of £85 and costs of £85.

He was also given a restraining order prohibiting him contacting the woman directly or indirectly and from entering Florence Court.

Coverdale was ordered to participate in an accredited programme for 32 days and magistrates ordered the quantity of drugs to be forfeited and destroyed.
