POLICE conducting an Andover murder probe are appealing for more information after a post-mortem into the death of Malcolm Cox proved 'inconclusive'.

Hampshire Constabulary say they would like to speak to people about Mr Cox's lifestyle in the hope of better understanding the circumstances of his death.

Detective Chief Inspector David Brown, of Hampshire Constabulary’s Major Crime team, said: “We have been following several lines of enquiry and I would like to thank those members of the public who have provided information to officers so far.

“As part of our investigation, we are keen to expand on what we know about Mr Cox.

“We would like people to come forward with any information about Mr Cox’s circumstances or lifestyle that may assist us in understanding what led to his death.

“We would also appeal for anyone who saw anything suspicious on the evening of Monday, November 14 to get in touch.”

Officers were called to a house in Bell Road, on Tuesday, November 15, after Mr Cox was found with a laceration to the back of his head.

Mr Cox, who lived at another address in Bell Road, was taken to North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke where he died the next morning.

Two people, a 38-year-old woman and a 71-year-old man, both from Andover, were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Both have been bailed until next year pending further inquiries.

Anyone with information should call 101, quoting Operation Bib.  Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where they can leave information anonymously.
