A 50-year-old man has been fined £400 for stealing a £10 bottle of Prosecco from a property in Goodworth Clatford.
Brett David Andrews, of Queens Road, Reading, admitted to stealing the bottle of alcohol and damaging a £7.99 calendar during an incident in December when he appeared in Basingstoke Magistrates' Court recently.
Andrews was fined £400 with no separate penalty for the criminal damage.
He was also ordered to pay a £40 victim surcharge and £85 Crown Prosecution costs.
UPDATE:
After the hearing, Mr Andrews said he had keys to the property as joint tenant so entered the house legitimately and had drunk the wine purchased by the other tenant of the home, his estranged wife.
