THREE people have been fined for littering with cigarette ends in the town centre last summer.
Two people were fined £100 by magistrates in Basingstoke Crown Court after it was proved in their absence that they had each deposited litter, a cigarette butt, in Bridge Street - one in July and the other in September.
They were also ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £70 court costs.
A third person was also found guilty in absence of littering with a cigarette end in High Street in August.
They were fined £50 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £20 court costs.
