Poppy Close police assaulter avoids jail and ordered to pay £1,000 compensation
A POPPY Close man has avoided jail and been ordered to pay £1,000 compensation after assaulting three police officers.
Michael Robert Button admitted to assaulting the three constables during an incident in Southampton when he appeared in Basingstoke Magistrates' Court earlier this week.
The 30-year-old was sentenced to 14 weeks in prison, suspended for two years, due to the severity of the injuries two of the officers sustained.
He was also ordered to pay £1,000 compensation.
