POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a suspicious incident in Ludgershall in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, March 16).

Between 3am and 5am, a Prince Charles Close resident woke to hear a noise coming from the front door.

A light from a torch or mobile phone was also being shone at the door.

The resident shouted at the person who then ran off towards Perham Crescent.

PC Trevor Morgan said: "At this time we don't know what the person's intentions were, or what they were doing in the area at the time. No damage has been caused and the person didn't get into the property.

"I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area of Prince Charles Close and Perham Crescent in the early hours of this morning (Thursday), and ask any local residents who may have CCTV or dash cams to see if they caught this person on camera."

Anyone with any information is asked to call PC Morgan at Amesbury police station on 101.
