AN Anton Road woman has been jailed for assaulting paramedics and causing criminal damage during a hospital disturbance.

Claire Louise Trussler has been sentenced to three months in prison after she admitted to assaulting four members of staff and a police officer during the incident at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester in February.

The 38-year-old also pleaded guilty to damaging some folders, a light and a wall in an eye testing room of the hospital.

Trussler was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison when she appeared in Basingstoke Magistrates' Court because of the seriousness of the offences involving assaults on paramedics within hospital premises.

She was also ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.
