POLICE are appealing for information after "offensive graffiti" was written on an Andover play park.

Officers are currently investigating the incident of criminal damage, which was found on the floor of a children's play area in Shaw Close.

Police say the graffiti involved an offensive image and word, which had been written in chalk.

They believe it was written sometime between 8pm on Friday 14 April and 3.30pm on Sunday 16 April.

PC Anna Davies, of Andover police station, said: “Incidents like this one are not acceptable, as they can cause great harm and offence to the communities concerned.

“We would like to hear from anyone who knows what happened, or who saw anything suspicious recently in the area of the Shaw Close play park.”
