POLICE have released an efit image after launching a rape investigation in Andover.

Officers are looking to speak to a man (pictured) in connection to the investigation.

The incident took place around the back of Wolversdene Club, Love Lane between midnight and 2am on Sunday, March 19.

The 22-year-old victim was approached by a man and then sexually assaulted.

The man has been described as a white male aged 30 to 40 years old with abig nose, chubby face and cheeks and light stubble. He has a scar under his left eye, which ran down at a slight angle and had an Eastern European accent.

He was wearing a black hooded top that was zipped at the front, with the hood up, and dark and silky tracksuit bottoms, and white and black Nike trainers which were black around the foot and with a white tick near the heel.

Detective Constable Ed Tyrie said: “Fortunately these types of incidents are rare in Andover and we are following all available lines of enquiry.

“Speaking to victims in investigations like these can be a long and complex process, and we are only now in a position to publish this efit image.

“Do you remember being in the area of Love Lane in the early hours of Sunday 19 March?

“Remember seeing anything suspicious? Do you recognise the man in the efit image? If so, please get in touch. You may hold information that is vital to our investigation."
