A GOLD and diamond handbag worth £20,000 was stolen during a farm burglary in Amport earlier this week.

Offenders broke into an office building on the farm in Grateley Drove sometime between 8.30pm on Sunday, June 25, and just after midnight on Monday, June 26.

Several items were stolen including the solid-gold and diamond-encrusted handbag, a silver and gold bangle with detailed engraving, a platinum and diamond ring, tools and electrical items.

Keys to a black Land Rover were also stolen. The car was driven away and was found burnt out later on Monday nearby in Quarley.

PC Steve Rogerson said: “This was a high-value, non-residential burglary and we are keen to hear from anyone who has information that will help our investigation.

“Were you in the area at the time? Did you see a black Land Rover being driven in the Amport area, or notice anything else suspicious?

“Have you seen or been offered any of these items for sale recently? If so, please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 44170242891.
