A CHIP Shop burglar has been jailed for three months after admitting to stealing nearly £400 from an Andover takeaway.
Jon Edward Ball was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison when he appeared in Basingstoke Magistrates' Court last week for the burglary of Tip Top fish and chip shop.
The 36-year-old, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to breaking into the Kingsway Gardens premises and stealing £380 in cash on July 16.
He further admitted to stealing four bottles of perfume worth £192 from Superdrug in Andover the same week.
Ball was given a custodial sentence because he was on licence from a crown court sentence at the time of committing the offences.
He was also ordered to pay £380 compensation.
