AN Andover beggar has been jailed after failing to comply with court orders preventing him from asking for money in the town centre.
Anthony Jenkyn Williams admitted to approaching a person in the town centre and asking for money in breach of a court order when he appeared in Basingstoke Magistrates' Court recently.
The 44-year-old also admitted to stealing two bottles of Smirnoff vodka from Waitrose worth £40 and four bottles of alcohol from Marks and Spencer worth £73.
Williams was jailed for 16 weeks due to his previous convictions and failing to comply with court orders.
He was also ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.
