A THIEF who stole memory cards worth more than £300 has been jailed for two months.

Aaron Paul Pearce admitted to stealing the memory cards valued at £397.91 from Boots in Andover in May when he appeared in Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court recently.

The 40-year-old, of Gainsborough Court, also admitted to committing the offence during the operation of a suspended sentence for taking two cars without consent.

Sentencing Pearce to nine weeks in prison, magistrates decided to activate the original eight-week suspended sentence and add an additional week for the theft.

No compensation, charges or costs were imposed due to insufficient funds.
