POLICE have issued a warning following three purse thefts in the town centre on the same day.
Between 10am and 10.15am on Saturday, 4 November, a 60-year-old woman had her purse stolen while she was in the Naomi House shop on Bridge Street, reference number 44170429733.
Later that morning, between 11am and 11.30am, an 80-year-old woman had her purse stolen when she was in the British Heart Foundation store in High Street, reference 44170429792.
Around the same time, between 11am and midday, in The Card Factory in The Chantry Centre, a 90-year-old woman reported having her purse stolen, reference 44170429741.
No arrests have been made for any of the offences and Hampshire Police is asking anyone with information to contact them on 101 quoting the relevant reference number.
Officers are also warning people to be mindful of their surroundings, to keep valuables safe and never leave valuables unattended. If anyone witnesses any suspicious activity they should report it via 101 or 999 if it is an emergency.
