A MAN has been jailed for six weeks for a number of charges including theft and Class A drug possession.

Carl Legg pleaded guilty to the possession of crack cocaine on 18 December 2017 when he appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on 20 December.

The 31-year-old, of no fixed abode, also pleaded guilty to stealing two perfume gift sets, worth £99.98, from TK Maxx, in Andover, on 26 November 2017, and failing to turn up to court on 12 December 2017, also at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on 20 December.

For the three offences, and breaking a number of community orders, Legg was sentenced to an overall six week jail sentence.

For the possession of crack cocaine, Legg was also ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Magistrates also ordered that the quantity of crack cocaine to be forfeited and destroyed.
