ATHLETES from Farleigh School, Andover, put in some record-breaking performances at their first athletics meeting of the summer at Yateley Manor School.

Two long-standing Farleigh School records fell as a throw of 25.98m was measured in the ball throw and the 800m was won in a time of 3 mins 2 seconds.

The relays were also a great success for the school with four wins, three second places and one third place.

Jayne Walukiewicz, head of PE, said: “These results are a direct reflection of how much teamwork, time and dedication have been put into athletics by the pupils so far this term.

“Farleigh just missed first place by the narrowest of margins.

“The icing on the cake, however, was the support and encouragement from all the pupils supporting their peers.

“Congratulations to everyone who took part.”
