WHITCHURCH Primary school head teacher Sarah Peters has announced her resignation from her position at the school.

Miss Peters broke the news in a letter to parents as she is set to emigrate to Australia later on in the year.

In her letter she said: “I will be emigrating to Australia in November and to be honest the commute would be a bit too much!”

“It has been a privilege to serve the town as head teacher at the school.

“It is a responsibility I have always taken very seriously aiming to provide the best education possible for your children.

“I have enjoyed working with so many talented and dedicated staff and feel very confident that the school is in great shape and will continue to flourish.

“We have been working to develop the capacity of the leadership team over the last two years to ensure that when any member of staff leaves the good practice and procedures can sustain.”

Miss Peters’ resignation comes into full effect on Friday, 24 October.
