A SECONDARY school ended the year with a bang, crash wallop and the odd cream pie as students performed in the annual pantomime.

Winton Community Academy pupils performed Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves to a sell-out audience in the newly refurbished John Morgan Studio Theatre.

The panto dame, Dame Baba, was played by Roman Pitman, who has played the dame for two years in succession.

Outwitting the bad guys, played by Emre Gozlogul, Luis Wyatt and Owen Carpenter, Dame Baba was helped along by Ali Baba played by J-Jay Jones who was cast in his first ever lead role.

The audience were treated to constant bad jokes, some ‘pretty awful’ singing from Dame Baba and the traditional cream pie gags leaving some members of the cast in a lather.

The show had some big opening dance numbers and quite a few

students were taking to the boards for the very first time.

The audience thoroughly rose to the occasion booing and cheering in equal amounts as well as raising their voices for the final sing-a-long led by Dama Baba.
