SPORTING effort is set to give help to charities both in the UK and across the globe.
A crisp, spring morning on Wednesday last week saw all Icknield School pupils travel to the Charlton Sports Centre to take to its track to participate in at least a mile walk each to raise money for Sport Relief.
The event was also well represented by parents and grandparents to cheer on or walk alongside them.
The group distance target of 150 miles was well and truly beaten with the sponsorship money now being counted up.
