PUPILS have run from Andover to the Natural History Museum, in London, without leaving the town.
Inspired by Winton Community Academy’s weekly 3km school run and the first school trip all students experience at the school, Year 7 and 8 students were set a challenge to collectively run the distance from Andover to the museum in aid of Sport Relief.
Over ten weeks, various routes were mapped out and on Friday the results were announced and students had collectively run 2137.4km and recorded 2.803.150 steps
However, there was more to come as part of Sports Relief's aim to get the nation to complete the 1 billion steps challenge, all students in Year 7 to 10 and staff were set the task of completing three laps of the school run in 30 minutes.
In total, the total rose to 3,422km, the distance from Andover to Antalya in Turkey, and 4,489,502 steps, raising a grand total of £319.
