A REFRACTORY PAUPER
At Mr. Lamb's office on Tuesday morning William Anderson, a tramp, was brought up in custody charged before Colonel Earle with having refused to perform his allotted task, and also with tearing up his own clothes whilst an inmate of the casual ward of the Union Workhouse. The porter said he went into the casual ward that morning and he there found a heap of rags, which on examination, proved to be the prisoner's trousers.
