Lorry overturned at Kingsclere

A LARGE goods vehicle has overturned on the A339 at Kingsclere.

The driver of the lorry has been taken to Basingstoke hospital by ambulance and crews are still working to clear the road, which will be closed while the vehicle is recovered.

James Morton, communications officer for Hampshiere Fire and Rescue Service, said fire crews were called to the scene at 9.45am.

He said: “Crews from Basingstoke and Kingsclere attended. The casualty was removed from the vehicle and taken to Basingstoke hospital by ambulance.”

He said only one vehicle was involved in the incident, which happened at the bend near the Star Inn, Kingsclere.

Yesterday, a lorry overturned on the A339 in the Bentworth area.

Crews took three hours to clear the road.

Second lorry overturns on the A339?!

That is really lame, the road has the same number but it is a completely different road. If a lorry overturns near Stafford or Stoke, will this be reported as the third? It is after all the same road.

Surely the A339 runs between Newbury and Alton only?

But I do agree with Radders19 that two lorry incidents separated by 22 miles and 1 day hardly warrants them being joined in a story...
