New course on how to help in a medical emergency launches this month

A COURSE teaching people how to spot signs of a heart attack, deal with bleeding and put someone in the recovery position, will start at the end of this month.
Heart Start Basingstoke and Deane has been accepted by the British Heart Foundation as a training provider, and it will offer its free Heart Start Course to anyone over the age of 10.
Peter McCarthy, scheme director, said: “It’s really important for people to learn this skill.”
The course starts on January 31 at the Innovation Centre |in Basing View, Basingstoke, from 5pm to 8pm every last Thursday of the month.
Heart Start can take up to 30 people on a course, and places can be booked by emailing Heartstart @direct-firstaid.co.uk or by calling 07891 929857 or 07707 395820.
