Two injured in Popley crash

TWO people were seriously injured after a car crash in Popley in the early hours of this morning.
The collision took place just after 3am on the southbound A33 Reading Road near its junction with Popley Way.
It is thought two cars were involved in the crash.
One person was taken to the trauma unit of Southampton General Hospital and another was taken to Basingstoke hospital. Police officers and three double-manned ambulances were called to the scene.
The southbound carriageway of the A33 Reading Road between Popley Way and A339 Ringway East was closed until 7am while officers investigated the scene.
