Hook post office to close next month for an interior overhaul
1:38pm Sunday 24th February 2013 in Basingstoke By Chris Gregory
THE post office in Hook will close for one day next month when it undergoes refurbishment.
The Grand Parade building will change to include two open-plan counter positions, while retaining one traditional screened counter position.
The work will take place on Wednesday, March 13 and will reopen the next day at 9am.
The store will also increase its opening hours on a Saturday after the refurbishment, by remaining open until 5.30pm rather than its current closing time of 12.30pm.
Mark Lawrence, Post Office regional network manager for south and east England, said the changes were part of a three-year investment programme to ensure there were no more branch closures.
He added: “We understand how important having a post office is to residents in Hook and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community.”
The nearest branches open during the work are in High Street, Hartley Wintney, and Church Street, Upton Grey.
