30-stone Winklebury man helped by firefighters after falling down stairs

A 30-STONE man had to be lifted out of his home by firefighters after collapsing.

The bariatric patient fell to the floor in the downstairs hallway of his home in Corfe Walk, Winklebury, Basingstoke, and an ambulance was called.

A crew from Basingstoke fire station was asked to assist in helping the man into the ambulance at 7.40pm on February 15.

Crew manager David Bowen said: “We used an inflatable chair which helped him to stand up and get him several steps to a bed.”
