Tool theft in Old Basing
5:31pm Wednesday 27th February 2013 in Basingstoke By Chris Gregory
THIEVES broke into a van in Old Basing to steal a workman’s tools.
The theft took place at around 1.40pm on Friday, February 22, when the van was parked outside a house in The Street.
The thieves took green and black Makita tools, including a power drill, impact driver, reciprocating saw, a circular jigsaw and a torch.
A silver Saab was seen driving away from The Street at speed shortly after the theft.
PC Lisa Cooper said: “This happened on a busy main road during the middle of the day so people may have seen something suspicious.
“A silver van was seen pulling out of Bexmoor Way around the time of the incident so I am keen to speak to the driver of that van. They may have also seen the silver Saab.”
Anyone with information can contact PC Cooper at Basingstoke police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
