Warning comes after thefts in Kingsclere and Headley

MOTORISTS are being urged by police not to leave valuables in their vehicles after incidents in the Kingsclere and Headley areas.

Overnight from Monday, March 11 into Tuesday, March 12, two cars which were parked on driveways off Newbury Road at Kingsclere and Headley, had items stolen from them.

The car parked in Kingsclere had a number of electrical items stolen including a sat nav, mobile phone and a camera. The car parked in Headley had a window smashed and a briefcase was stolen.

Officers are also linking another incident where a garage in Ashford Hill Road was broken into and a bike was stolen, on the same night.

PC Lisa Cooper said: “Residents are reminded to never leave valuables or items in their vehicles whilst left unattended, even when locked on private driveways, behind gates, or in garages.

“All valuables should be taken indoors. This advice applies to any time of the day or night.

Anyone with any information about these incidents is asked to contact PC Cooper at Basingstoke Police Station on 101 or call the charity Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
