A NANNY and her former boyfriend have been jailed after plotting to burgle the family home of the Duke of Wellington’s son.

Sarah Hallcup helped Neal Akhtar to steal antiques from the Heckfield home of Lord Christopher Wellesley, the youngest son of the Duke of Wellington.

Stolen items taken from the house in July last year were valued at £30,000 and included busts of the first Duke of Wellington, the hero of Waterloo, a Cartier clock, a pair of silver pheasants, paintings and a child’s quad bike.

At Winchester Crown Court yesterday, Hallcup, 27, of Parkside Road, Reading, was jailed for two years, and Akhtar, 27, of Elm Park Road, Reading, was jailed for three.

Scott Allaway, 27, of Green Road, Reading, who transported items from the house in a van, received 18 months imprisonment after pleading guilty to handling stolen goods.
