THE music line-up for this year’s CarFest has been announced, with Texas headlining for the second year running.

The second CarFest event at Laverstoke Park Farm, near Overton, takes places over the August bank holiday weekend (August 23-25), and includes cars, music, food and aerial displays.

Organised by Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans, this year’s music line-up features Keane, Jamie Cullum, Jools Holland, Ocean Colour Scene, The Feeling, Reef and Scouting for Girls.

Evans will broadcast live from the event, which raises money for BBC Children in Need. Extra day-tickets have now gone on sale for those who missed out when the original allocation sold out within hours back in January.

This year’s CarFest has been extended to include the full day on Friday, August 23, when the action will begin from noon. Cars from Evans’ own private collection will be on display at the farm, which is owned by former Formula One champion Jody Scheckter.

A pavilion will house food and drink and the Cakes versus Pies competition will return, judged by a panel of professionals, including food writer Mary Berry who will declare the winners.

Family entertainment will include a silent disco, kids’ driving school, dancing diggers, medieval jousting and a Vulcan bomber flypast.

Evans, left, said: “CarFest last year was brilliant – kids, mums, dads, grandparents all had a fabulous time. It’s like a huge village fete where everyone can have masses of fun together. I can’t wait to do it all again.”
