Stamp of honour for Eversley Post Office worker Morag Lamb
A SUB-POSTMISTRESS has received an award for her dedicated service to the Post Office and her customers.
Morag Lamb was given the Long Service Award by Rob Worley, field change advisor, to mark her 30th year working for the Eversley Centre.
Mrs Lamb and her husband Peter, who are originally from Camberley, bought the village shop and Post Office in 1983, when their children were aged seven and 10.
Two years ago, the couple sold the shop to John and Jill Hartle, because of Mr Lamb’s declining health, but they retained Eversley Centre Post Office, in Reading Road, Eversley, where Mrs Lamb still works part-time.
The 66-year-old said: “I am delighted to receive the long service award as sub-postmistress. I never thought that I would get to 30 years’ service, especially as when my husband and I bought the business, I thought I might do the job for five years, and then sell the business.
“However, I have carried on because I really enjoy being a village sub-postmistress in Eversley.
“The years have flown by. I love being a part of this community, and I am trusted by customers, which is very important.”
