Cliddesden Vintage Rally pulls in the crowd
VINTAGE motor enthusiasts young and old spent an afternoon admiring a host of vehicles from across the decades.
Cars, motorbikes, and even tractors from yesteryear were displayed in their full glory at the Cliddesden Vintage Rally.
More than 45 much-loved motors were at the event organised by the Basingstoke-based National Historic Vehicle Society.
Society secretary Stan Tarrant, 61, of Abbey Road, in Popley, Basingstoke, was displaying his own 1956 Fordson tractor, and 1960s road roller.
He said the event, which was held at the Alton Road Paddocks, in Cliddesden, is a chance for enthusiasts to show off their collections.
“It shows something a little bit different from the run-of-the-mill vehicles you see on the roads today,” said Mr Tarrant.
“We enjoy preserving these vehicles, and most of all we enjoy showing them and getting people to look at them.”
The rally, which has been an annual fixture for the past seven years, will not be held in 2014, but Mr Tarrant said he hopes to hold the next event in the Autumn of 2015.
