Woman robbed in daylight by gang of six in Chineham
A WOMAN was robbed in daylight by a gang of hooded men as she walked to work in Chineham.
The 50-year-old was walking along the footpath between St Joseph’s Crescent and the footbridge over the A33 at around 11am, on September 28, when a group of six young men surrounded her, demanded money and told her to open her handbag.
One of them also ripped a work ID card on a lanyard from around her neck.
The first man is described as white, aged 20 to 25, about 6ft tall and of a medium build.
He had a long oval face, was clean shaven and was wearing a plain navy zip-up hooded jumper, with the hood up, dark blue jeans and black trainers.
The second man was white, aged 17 to 18, about 5ft 6ins tall and of a slim build.
He was wearing a dark grey hooded jumper with the hood up and blue jeans.
The third man is described as white, aged around 19, about 5ft 6ins tall and of a medium build. He had blonde hair, very pale blonde eyebrows and was clean shaven. He was wearing a plain black hooded jumper, blue jeans and white trainers.
The fourth man was white, aged 20 to 25, about 5ft 8ins tall, with blond hair and of a medium build.
He was wearing a plain blue zip-up hooded jumper and blue jeans.
The fifth and sixth men were both described as white, young-looking and were wearing hooded tops with the hoods up.
PC Dave Catchpole, from Basingstoke CID, said: “Fortunately the victim was not injured during this incident. I believe there may have been several people around at this time on a Saturday morning. Were you in the area? Did you see a group of young men hanging around the area? Or did you see the incident?”
