Traffic problems in Basingstoke caused by census in Black Dam
TRAFFIC jams have built up in Basingstoke this morning because of a census being carried out in Black Dam by Hampshire County Council.
Problems have been reported on the A339 Ringway East outbound from the A30 London Road (Black Dam Roundabout) and towards Junction 6 of the M3.
The long delays are a result of a traffic census being carried out on the Black Dam Roundabout, which has resulted in a build-up of traffic around the town.
It has also been reported that there was an accident earlier this morning on the Red Man Roundabout, in Chineham.
Motorists took to Twitter to vent their frustration.

@Maggs999 said: "My husband left Reading at 7 for usual 45 min commute 2 Winchester. Took him 2 hours! Not happy!"
@rachieclinch said: "yes my usual 5 mins drive was 35 mins."
Hampshire County Council are yet to comment.
