Three burglaries in Hatch Warren and Ellisfield believed to be linked
A SPATE of burglaries in Basingstoke last week are believed to have been linked.
Detectives are investigating the incidents which all happened in the daytime.
The incidents are as follows:
- Between 10.35am and 12.25pm on October 17, a house in Wood Close, Hatch Warren, was broken into and jewellery was stolen.
- Between 10am and 2.20pm on October 18, a house in The Crofts, Hatch Warren, was broken into and jewellery stolen. A safe was also taken and dragged from the house on a bed-sheet.
- Between 1.45pm and 2.35pm on October 18, an attempt was made to break into a house in Green Lane, Ellisfield. The offenders were disturbed and nothing was taken.
Detective constable Andy Panter said: “We are currently treating all these incidents as linked. I would urge people to think back to these dates and to contact me if they can remember seeing anything suspicious.
“The burglary at the house in The Crofts was particularly unusual in that the offenders are believed to have dragged a safe along an alleyway between The Crofts and Whitestones towards Hatch Warren Lane. Did you see this happening? Do you know anything about any of these incidents?”
Anyone with information should contact Det Con Panter at Basingstoke police station on 101.
