Catwalk show raises cash for cancer charity
THE Ark Cancer Charity has been given a boost – thanks to the generosity of the ladies section of a local golf club.
The women of the Test Valley Golf Club held a fashion show in aid of the charity, which us raising funds for a £13.5million state-of-the-art cancer centre at a site to be identified near Basingstoke.
The catwalk ladies managed to raise £1,300 for the charity through the show, held at the club in Micheldever Road, Overton.
Dawn Nicholson, ladies captain of the club, said: “The evening was a great success and just part of a series of activities undertaken this year in support of The Ark Cancer Centre Charity, which is an incredibly worthwhile cause that will potentially benefit every family in the area. Tickets sold out weeks before the show took place.”
The catwalk show was supported by clothes store Phase Eight Basingstoke and cosmetics company Clarins.
The Ark Cancer Charity hopes to raise £5million for the new centre through fundraising.
