SCOTTISH and Southern Energy (SSE) is seeking feedback from customers following the Christmas storms.

The energy supplier has published a consultation document asking what more can be done to meet and exceed customers’ expectations during a power cut.

Stuart Hogarth, director of distribution at SSE, said: “Engineers and other employees worked long hours to look after our customers and safely restore their electricity as quickly as we could from early in the morning to late into the night throughout the festive period, including Christmas Day.

“In total, we restored power to more than 130,000 customers, with around 95 per cent of those who lost power early on Christmas Eve having their power restored the next day.

“We are immensely grateful for the patience and understanding of our customers during this time, especially those who were, unfortunately, without power until December 28 while our engineers worked hard to tackle the remaining, particularly challenging, faults.

“The findings of this consultation will be incorporated into what we do. Please take the time to read this document and respond with your views.”

The consultation document can be found at ssepd.co.uk/HaveYourSay/december2013stormconsultation.

Comments on the consultation document can be made by emailing feedback@sse.com by March 28.
