ANVIL Arts has revealed details of this year’s Christmas shows – both of which will be sponsored by Gazette Newspapers.

The Anvil’s pantomime is to be one of the most popular fairytales of them all, Cinderella, while the Christmas show at The Haymarket will be The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus.

Early bookings have now opened for both shows.

Cinderella will run from December 11 until January 4, while The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, based on the book by L Frank Baum, will run from December 3 to 14.

Matthew Cleaver, deputy chief executive at Anvil Arts, said: “We were delighted with the great comments that we received from the audiences of Aladdin, and when many of the group organisers contacted us straight away to ask when Cinderella was going on sale, we decided that we would open up this year’s bookings early.

“Many groups and schools want to ensure they get the seats and performances of their choice, and we already have almost £10,000 worth of tickets on reserve.”

Anyone interested in making a group booking should call the group booking line on 01256 366935. Organisers can reserve seats now and confirm final numbers later.

Mr Cleaver added: “Booking is open to everyone now, not just groups. We hope to announce some cast details soon.”

In addition, following the very successful relaxed performance of Aladdin, which was enjoyed by several hundred people on the autistic spectrum and with other disabilities, Anvil Arts has announced that it will be presenting another specially adapted performance.

The 2pm performance of Cinderella in The Anvil on Friday, January 2, 2015 will be a unique Relaxed Performance during which the auditorium lights will be left on. Additional wheelchair spaces are available and the performance will be signed. The quiet zone in the Linden Room will contain a range of sensory equipment.
