VISITORS to Festival Place had a roaring time last week when a dinosaur model was unleashed into crowds of shoppers.

A 10ft long, six ft high model of the Australovenator dinosaur popped into the shopping centre on April 15, along with its keepers following its appearance in the Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo show at The Anvil on April 15 and April 16.

The Australian-based creators, Erth, use puppetry to bring a variety of dinosaurs, including baby dinosaurs to teeth-gnashing giants, back to life in the educational, yet entertaining show.

Andrea Bath, press officer for the Anvil Arts group said: “We were delighted to be able to take the cast and some of the 'dinosaurs' (with their incredible puppeteers) into Festival Place last week. We caused a bit of a stir!

“The reaction and interest from shoppers was great. The actual performances at The Anvil last week of Erth's Dinosaur Zoo were incredibly popular and the audiences had an entertaining, and informative, time."
