SIMON Hood is head of marketing at relocation specialists HCR Group, based on Basing View.

The 30-year-old is proving to be a rising star in the world of marketing, as last month he was also appointed director of marketing for Basingstoke Town Football Club.

As one of the country’s youngest football directors, he played a pivotal role in securing a partnership with Sky’s Soccer AM. This involved renaming Town’s current stadium from The Camrose to The Soccer AM Stadium.

The ambitious former Bournemouth University student is also part of the Dons Trust for League Two football club AFC Wimbledon.

Last year, he was named the INSPIRE13 Young Business Person of the Year, and earlier this year, he was appointed chairman of the Hampshire branch of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

At HCR, he led a team taking part in The Prince’s Trust Million Makers Challenge, raising £10,000 for the charity, with the first-ever Hampshire Cookbook.

He has also recently sold the distribution rights of a poker app he developed, and runs his own awards business in Kent.
