LOST loved ones will be remembered at a special Christmas service at a Basingstoke hospice in December.

St Michael’s Hospice, in Aldermaston Road, is inviting people across Basingstoke to join its annual Light Up A Life ceremony on Sunday, December 7.

This year’s event, which is supported by De La Rue, will begin at 6pm at the hospice.

John Dennis, honorary assistant bishop in the Diocese of Winchester, and hospice chaplain Liz Lang will lead a service, giving time for reflection and remembrance.

Basingstoke Silver Band and the De La Rue Choir will provide music at the service.

Laura Hughes, marketing and events co-ordinator at St Michael’s Hospice, said: “This year, as well as our service, we will be shining a beam of light into the sky as a visual tribute of remembrance to those who cannot be with us.

“We hope that this will attract the community to join us at the hospice for our special event and raise awareness of the work we do.”
