GRANTS totalling more than £6,300 have been handed out in the latest round of giveaways by Four Lanes Trust.

Tadley Community Centre and Central Studio, in Basingstoke, were among the main beneficiaries at the latest meeting of the group.

The community centre, in Newchurch Road, was given £1,000, which will go towards replacement portable staging for the hall, while Central Studio, at Queen Mary’s College, in Cliddesden Road, was given £947.49 for equipment.

St John’s Primary School in Kingsmill Road, Basingstoke, was given £1,000 for class reading books, and charity SeeAbility was given £750 towards the construction of a dedicated dining area at Heather House, in Tadley.

Also among the latest groups to benefit are Basingstoke Sea Cadets, who were awarded £600 towards a new kitchen, and Bramley group Clift Meadow Trust, who will buy a new projector with the £550 they received.

Four Lanes Trust was set up in 1974 and has since given almost £1.2million to local groups involved in community, education and arts projects.
