THERE is a chance to enjoy great music and give a boost to good causes as The Rotary Club of Basingstoke Deane hosts a fundraising musical event.

The Anvil, in Basingstoke, will once again be the venue for the annual concert by The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines.

Directed by Major Pete Curtis MBE, the band have played to big crowds at the Basingstoke venue in recent years, and thousands of pounds have been raised for charities supported by the local Rotary club.

This year, the Band – who are performing at 3pm on Sunday, February 8 – will be supported by singing star Amanda Goldthorpe-Hall.

Special guests The Chelsea Pensioners will also be present.

Rod Clarke, Basingstoke Deane club president for 2014-15, said: “Those who have been to our concerts before will know that The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines, with its superb musicians, is a class act in concert at The Anvil.

“All profits from the concert will go to charities supported by The Rotary Club of Basingstoke Deane, including Help for Heroes and The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund.”

The Rotary Club of Basingstoke Deane, winner of the Best International Rotary Club award 2012, is looking forward to a huge success, and is hoping for another sell-out audience at the concert, for which award-winning Basingstoke firm Centerprise International is the prime sponsor.

Tickets priced £26 and £21 are available from the box office on 01256 844244 or online at anvilarts.org.uk.
