A ROAD safety campaign which aims to save children’s lives is being supported by Hampshire County Council.

#SaveKidsLives urges everyone to support the Decade for Action for road safety which is running from 2011 to 2020, with the aim of reducing child casualties on the roads across the world.

The campaign is being highlighted during the UN Global Road Safety Week from May 4 to 10.

Hampshire County Council (HCC) aims to make the roads across the county safer for everyone to use, and it runs campaigns throughout the year to highlight the importance of road safety.

As part of the #SaveKidsLives campaign, HCC’s Road Safety Team ran free car seat checks on Tuesday. In previous car seat checks, it was found that 80 per cent of seats did not meet one of more of these criteria and therefore would not have fully protected the child if they had been in a crash.
