WALKERS will pound the streets to raise cash for poorly children and armed forces families.

Hundreds of people are expected to take part in a 20-mile walk from Naomi House Children’s Hospice at Sutton Scotney, near Winchester, to the home of Help for Heroes at Tedworth House in Tidworth.

The event , to be held on September 12 and organised by Hampshire-based Moores Cleaning, is set to raise hundreds for the two charities.

Participants will get the choice of three walks, including a 20-mile countryside stroll between the two charities from 8am, a nine-mile walk between one of the charities and The White Hart in Andover town centre and a four-mile children’s walk.

The day will finish with a barbecue for participants and supporters from 4.30pm.

Walkers must pay £5 to enter and raise a minimum of £100 each, while the participant who raises the most will get a prize.

The cash raised will help Naomi House continue providing care for children and young adults with life-limiting conditions, while Help for Heroes, who provide practical, direct support to wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, will also get a boost.
