THIRTY employees from a Basingstoke business took part in a special football match last week to pull in the pounds for a good cause.

Members of staff from TaylorMade Golf, in Jays Close, Viables, held a charity football match on Tuesday, September 1 to raise much-needed funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The national charity provides support for people diagnosed with cancer, as well as their families.

And in addition to those on the field, scores of family and friends came to the Winklebury football complex to cheer on those taking part in the 90-minute match.

The fundraising event pulled in £186 for the charity, with £5 from each player going to the charity, and more funds are expected as a fundraising bucket will be passed around the office.

Father-of-one Carl Saunders, who works in quality assurance in the warehouse and organised the event, told The Extra: “It was all good and my side won which was good and we raised quite a bit of money.

“It is such a worthy cause and the football was all part of the fun.”
