TWO people in their 70s were treated in hospital following a serious collision on the B3400 yesterday afternoon.

The crash took place around 12.50pm on Sunday 10 April when a car overturned following a collision with a bus on the single carriageway between Whitchurch and Overton.

A 74-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman were removed from their car following the crash and both were taken to Basingstoke hospital by South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS).

A spokesperson for SCAS confirmed that the woman suffered a hand injury in the collision, while the man suffered a head injury.

Neither injuries are thought to be life threatening.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue and Hampshire Roads Policing Unit also attended the incident.

The fire service sent two crews, one from Whitchurch and one from Overton, who provided primary care to the patients on their arrival.

Crews also assisted the police in clearing the debris from the road, which was reopened around 3pm.
