POLICE have named the van driver who died following a collision involving a tree on the A343, near Highclere earlier this week.
Ian Sainsbury, of Fyfield, was driving a Mercedes Sprinter van which collided with a tree between Three Legged Cross and the Yew Tree pub.
The 60-year-old died at the scene in the early hours of Wednesday, December 28.
Mr Sainsbury’s family have thanked people for their support and kind words at this difficult time.
They are now asking people to respect their privacy as the family move forward together.
